A writer’s challenge

By

By ‘a writer’ I may just be referring to myself…I’ve been thinking, really I have and I fear I’m not taking myself too seriously. I read a bit on the condition called ‘writer’s block’ (that should possibly be the title of this piece), err I don’t really want to call it a condition, sounds too grave but maybe (I’m being honest here), just maybe I could possibly be suffering from that, I mean, how do you explain writing half completed stories of which I have no idea how it’s supposed to end, but then I write it anyway and then at times, as much as I crave to, I just simply don’t write…

Writer’s block- it sounds like a fearsome condition, like you just can’t come up with something- anything. So maybe it’s just laziness or something. I know all these requires a whole deal of commitment and all but still I should probably ask – how do you help yourself if you’re suffering (suffering? oh I don’t want it sounding so bad…) going through a writer’s block?…

Well, let’s call it a challenge and not a block…I mean, it doesn’t seem to be a total block, more like a ‘partial’ block. First, continue writing whatever comes to your pen, there’s nothing worse than being inspired and not writing at all…better to write and not be able to ‘complete’…the completion is definitely gonna come around someday (sooner hopefully)[from experience]. Writing (whether for the fun or otherwise) takes some dedication, creativity, and lots of thinking (so you might wanna put a little more heart into it). Don’t force it though, let it wash over you like gentle tidal flows…relax (don’t fret or worry ’bout the ending, just let your heart continue it’s music and don’t stop the pen’s rhythm), draw inspiration from your environment(you’ll be amazed), plus an ending doesn’t have to always be ‘conventional’, so some twist and ‘unconventionality’ might do the trick too…the lil’ diamonds – keep ’em shining.
