First issue (oh and I hope I’m not sounding all official 🙂 )
so here’s the thing, there’s this Nigerian thing called gender stereotypes (ok to sound not biased,it’s not only here in Nigeria)… Where I come from, males do stuffs and females are not expected to do them and if they do, ‘onlookers ‘ either go ”woah’ or give them a piece of their mind and we all know what that entails #winks…from a more private outlook,it really isn’t evident in my home…but I’m not so blind, I see it all around.
girls are supposed to cook and what, boys are supposed not to? It really shouldn’t be a source of contention, but shouldnt a man learn to care for himself by learning such a thing as fending for his stomach, and so if you see a man in the kitchen, you either go ‘woah’ or you give them a piece of your mind and say,in the Nigerian manner ‘brother please excuse me,let me see you in camera, you know what you’re doing is degrading…’ Call me a feminist, fine, but certain things ought to be understood and fully too. If it’s in our culture for boys to go into sciences and girls arts then we sure need a restructuring…my sociologist dad once said here in Africa, equality is a growing phenomenon…maybe he’s right…
what’d you think?…
