There’s a little girl with no hope of getting a meal today, there’s a young man who just lost his job and would have no room over his head this night if he’s unable to pay his rent, there’s a teenage boy who is being bullied at school, suffering from depression and is going to commit suicide if it doesn’t end soon and we all act as if we don’t care, we all pretend that everything’s fine when things are about turning to the worst, we take advantage of the little things we have that seem really ‘little’, but do we know that so many people cannot even boast of that little, do we know that it would mean the whole world to someone if we give out of the many we have. I heard somewhere that you haven’t given yet if you’ve not yet given something that cannot be paid back. There has to be a re-orientation, a refocusing, a revolution…and it has to be quick, it has to start now! If we look at our world today, it’s painful but it seems our society is void of love. Maybe the true meaning of the word ‘love’ has been misunderstood or rather misappropriated, even the so called religious bodies have become congregations of discord and places for self gratification…

Before I go on too far maybe I should make clear that very thing we all seem to have gotten wrong or probably forgotten about. It’s pretty hard to define the word love but first thing we have to know is that love is more than just a word it even goes beyond being a mere concept. So  many of us just see it as this wonderful phenomenon, true, it is but still it goes beyond that…it’s quite unexplainable and we probably all see it in differing terms. Love is a verb…it’s an action word and at times we don’t even have to say the words ‘I love you’ before it’s heard. When love is allowed to have its way, it speaks louder to the hearts of people than real actual words. It’s something we all shouldn’t just cultivate, it should be a part of us, it should be us…

It’s a personality, an addiction, a lifestyle

There is something supernatural about it…and that’s where the revolution starts! We should refocus our view on love from the natural to the supernatural. It starts from knowing that God is love and that without him nothing exists. With the presence of the supernatural in our lives, love comes alive, it becomes something that is not just demanded from us just so things would go on normally, it becomes something we can’t do without, it becomes our life…

I’ve heard that there are different kinds of love, maybe that’s true but I believe there’s only one true kind of love…the type that springs from God and with that every other ‘type’ is gracefully covered.  Let’s start from the greatest story ever told, the story of love, the story of a man who gave up his all for the least deserving people. This man was convicted of faults he never committed, he was obviously innocent…truth is, he could have spoken up, he could have done something, so many of us would have done something to ensure that we get untangled from the ‘mess’ and misunderstanding if we were in his shoes…but he, he didn’t …he didn’t say a thing, call it foolishness, to him it was love, the greatest love. He was guilty of murder, genocide, adultery, theft, blasphemy, slander, cheating, all evil things imaginable…and yet he didn’t do any one of these, not even one. He was sentenced to death by hanging…and he died for people undeserving. He is our model of what true love is… he had always loved us even before there was time and he always will , it’s been proved…he is love.

So if you happen to be reading this…this very moment ill like you to first of acknowledge the presence of the Lord of all, the Lord of love- Christ Jesus, he’s the only one who can make a difference and a revolution, let him into your heart, your life, he’s the supernatural, the one true kind of love that gracefully overshadows us…now that he’s taken over, let the revolution begin! Spread the word, spread the love…reach out to that little girl, to that young man, to that teenage boy, you can help save a life, give out whatever it is you have, your talent, your smile, tell someone about the greatest story ever, encourage a broken heart, give out a helping hand…just let God’s love that’s better than life have its way…
