Saviour

Petulant priests, greedy
centurions, and one million
incensed gestures stand
between your love and me.

Your agape sacrifice
is reduced to colored glass,
vapid penance, and the
tedium of ritual.

Your footprints yet
mark the crest of
billowing seas but
your joy
fades upon the tablets
of ordained prophets.

Visit us again, Savior.
Your children, burdened with
disbelief, blinded by a patina
of wisdom,
carom down this vale of
fear. We cry for you
although we have lost
your name.

…this poem just strikes the point, we certainly need a visit from the Savior…we’ve so encapsulated ourselves with religious sentiments and fanaticism that we’ve forgotten what we truly stand for…maybe just a visit won’t do…maybe we need Him to stay…

Very true . The statement that when the use of something is not know abuse is inevitable. Even when we don’t know exactly what is missing in us, how do you expect us to get it back. Right from after-the-garden experience, we have lost something so dear to our existence and we knew it. We’ve lost the whole essence of creation and we have searched extensively to regain this thing. But we never knew it right from time. We knew something was missing. The creation of man in his image and after his likeness. The dominion of man over all things of the earth. Heaven on earth!
