I had been waiting a long time for that
I had envisioned places you would be in my dreams
Sitting on your truck, reading a book about robots in space from the lights of the night
You would tell me what you thought about the phenomenon of choice and how twarted it seems
And I would hear you from wherever I am
Stiffling a smile because you always thought about things differently
Yesterday I had been unnaturally inspired
I had spent hours sitting on the grainy floor outside the house, wondering about existence.
It seemed I had hit a concrete point and so I allowed myself some sleep, happy about the secret
It wasn’t much of a surprise that you chose to visit then
You don’t know it but you are like a mirror
Reflecting the secrets I find in my soul
I had to share
You had to know this new secret
And so you came
You brought me out, and I followed you to where you wrote on a mirror
“if ever I am able to love, then I would know the truth”
I didn’t understand why you wrote that
But in that fleeting moment before a dream becomes only a dream
I caught your eyes
They reflected a secret light, the kind that lovers have and I at once saw you with me on that grainy floor talking about existence, and about the secret truth we both now share.
