This is me situating myself in time – practicing the art of situating myself in time

I am here now, in that picture, at an unassuming place some distance away from the starstruck lovers dancing in the rain, with the moon shinning down. It’s a beautiful sight. And you are here. With me.

Because you’re reading this, you’re doing exactly what I am doing now, situating yourself in time.

I’ll let you know what I’m thinking too. I feel obliged to do this, it’s the least I can do for bringing you here…

I’m thinking of how music and rain always have the same effect on me

I don’t know why but each time there’s music or rain I always feel like dancing, or running, or doing both at the same time, which is only somewhat possible

Frank Sinatra’s I’ve got you under my skin is playing now.

and I feel like running someplace far away

but you are here

and I can’t run, as much as I would love to. As much as the music and the rain are asking me to

I think you noticed how I couldn’t run, and how there was only one other thing to do

So you asked if we could dance

And I, I wasn’t even thinking of the possibility of that

and although all my brain cells wanted to scream NO, somehow I found myself saying yes

and now, here we are,  like starstruck lovers swinging away to Frank Sinatra’s I’ve got you under my skin, under the rain with the moon watching. I imagine it’s a beautiful sight, would be perfect for a picture.

It feels like people are watching

Two people

One brought the other here

Maybe they’ll end up dancing too, but only after we’re done with this dream

When the moon gives way to sunshine, and when we’re forced to wake up to reality.
